Book Review: How Christians Should Vote - Tony Evans
Greetings Followers,
I must admit, this wasn’t on my long list of books to read, but a good friend of mine’s father gave it to me after a discussion on the relation to Christianity and Politics. This less than 90 page book, gives a clear and concise connection between the scriptures that Christians believe, and how to apply these beliefs to political action and participation. He repeatedly uses the word: Kingdom … which represents the attitude and perspective by which we should look at all issues. No our own agenda, Democratic agenda, Republican, or even independent agenda, but God’s agenda; the Kingdom agenda.
There are some claims here that would probably upset a great many people, but I commend Pastor Evans for making bold statements and backing it up with scriptures. I must say, as a Christian the ‘Kingdom’ Philosophy will help clear up a lot of questions we tend to ask our ‘leaders’. Too often we ask our leaders to cater to our needs, and we really should be checking them to see how they are going to carry out the needs of those whom God calls His own.
Overall, this was a great quick read. As mentioned earlier, it is less than 90 pages and can easily be read in a sitting or two. (Depending on how you read.) Go check it out, and make an INFORMED decision when you vote.
God Bless You All!
